Promoting inclusion for people with disabilities, enhancing student learning and faculty scholarship since 1974.

Since 1974, the Center on Disability and Community Inclusion has shared knowledge and resources between the University of Vermont and other Vermont communities. We are part of a network of similar programs around the United States that focus on disability topics across the lifespan.

Projects

CDCI coordinates over 20 projects in order to pursue its mission of an inclusive Vermont. Our projects work throughout the state within the community, schools, and university to enhance training, service, research, and sharing of information. If you know which project you are interested in, please see our Projects Page for an A-Z listing.

Topics

CDCI houses many projects that affect the lives of Vermonters with disabilities, from training educators and other professionals, offering postsecondary education opportunities, and providing information and demos about assistive technology. If you know what topic you are interested in learning more about, visit our topics page and we will help connect you with the right project, resources, and people.

National Network

CDCI is part of a national network of University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDDs). There are currently 67 UCEDDs, with at least one in every state and US territory. Each is affiliated with a major research university and serves as a resource for all people in the areas of education, research, and service relative to the needs of people with developmental disabilities.
