CONTROL SYSTEMS: HISTORY, RECENT TRENDS, AND CURRENT RESEARCH AT UVM

The IEEE Control Systems Society chapter of GMS and the Autonomous and Intelligence Systems Research Laboratory (AIR Lab) at UVM are excited to present a technical seminar titled “Control Systems: History, Recent Trends, and Current Research at UVM”.

Over the past century, automatic control systems have revolutionized our modern society. Control systems can be found in almost any industry, ranging from automotive and aerospace, to manufacturing and food processing. In this talk, we will provide an overview of control systems and their operation. Then, we will travel back in time and review the history of automatic control. We will then discuss the recent developments and important challenges in the field. We will end the talk with an overview of the exciting research being conducted at UVM in the fields of automatic control, estimation, and related areas. The talk will be accompanied by demos.

Pizza and pop will be served! There will be a networking opportunity following the talk. Free parking is available at Votey Hall.
