Auditions Monday November 12th and Tuesday November 13th

6:00-10:30 in Royall Tyler Theatre
Callbacks will take place on Wednesday November 14th 6:00-10:30

Sign-up sheet for an audition slot will be posted on the callboard in Royall Tyler Theatre on November 5th.

PLEASE PREPARE 16-24 BARS OF A CONTEMPORARY MUSICAL THEATRE NUMBER. ACCOMPANIST WILL BE PROVIDED.

Show begins rehearsals Saturday January 12, 2019 (the weekend BEFORE start of spring semester). Rehearsals continue weeknights and Saturdays.
Performances February 27th-March 3rd, 2019.

Seeking an ensemble of actor/singers who move very well. Specifically looking for ensemble with additional performance skills: juggling, stilt-walking, strong dance abilities, gymnastics-tumbling, and other impressive physical feats.

The production is conceived as a group of traveling “players” who tell the story of PIPPIN.

Roles:

PIPPIN
Young and confused protagonist. He is longing to find his purpose in life. Naive, innocent, and discontent. Eventually finds love, and meaning in life, with Catherine and Theo

LEADING PLAYER
The ultimate 'ring leader.' Masterfully charming and manipulative, the Leading Player is a chameleon of sorts. Guides Pippin through his own story and tries to intervene at the end. excellent dancer. Obsessed with putting on a great show for the audience.

CHARLES
Pippin's demanding father. As the King of the Holy Roman Empire, Charlemagne is more comfortable wielding a sword than breaking bread. He wears his years with great pride.

LEWIS (Also plays ensemble role)
Pippin's half-brother.

FASTRADA
Pippin's conniving stepmother. A seductress, who is no stranger to deceit and betrayal, she is both sexy and smart. Skilled at using her sexual appeal to benefit her and her son.

BERTHE (Also plays ensemble role)
Pippin's saucy grandmother. A brassy broad full of wisdom, grace, and sass. She tries to help Pippin and encourages him to live his life to the fullest.

CATHERINE
A widow and mother. Beautifully hopeless romantic, who possesses graceful elegance. Encounters Pippin at his lowest point and eventually falls in love with him.

THEO
Catherine's son.  (Age: 6 to 10, Will be played by a child)
