Former Affiliate artist, violin and viola

Evelyn Read's teachers included Ivan Galamian, Dorothy DeLay and Isadore Cohen, as well as chamber music work with Josef Gingold, Leon Fleischer and Zara Nelsova. She is on the faculty of the University of Vermont where she teaches violin and viola and directs the chamber music ensembles. Ms. Read has a flourishing, internationally known private studio as well.

Groups accompanied: A former principal 2nd violinist in the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, and violist in the Champlain String Quartet, she has been invited on several occasions by the Government and Pro-Musica of the Republic of Panama where she has taught and performed with the National Orchestra of Panama.
