University Organist and Affiliate Artist

Amy recently moved from North Carolina to Vermont where she is the Director of Music at First Congregational Church in Burlington. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (2000) in Piano Performance, minor in voice and organ, from Averett University in Danville, VA, and a Master of Music degree (2006) in Conducting and Piano from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ where she performed many major works with the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Dresden Philharmonic and studied with James Jordan, Tim Brown from Claire College and Dale Warland. She is an educator and a clinician, collaborative pianist at Interlochen Summer Arts Camp and has taught workshops on vocal technique in the choral classroom and Affect-ive music making: the heart of the matter. She has served as Music Director, organist, pianist, conductor and teacher in schools and churches in Virginia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Kansas and now Vermont, where she is excited to become part of the UVM community.
