2020 was a difficult year for performers in the arts, like classical musicians violinist Letitia Quante, cellist Emily Taubl, and pianist Hiromi Fukuda. Taubl is an Affiliate Artist at the University of Vermont Music Department. The three Juillard-trained musicians, who all live in Vermont, recently formed the Champlain Trio. Their project “Empty Stages” with filmmaker Jay Craven draws attention to the many amazing concert venues across the state and shows how COVID-19 has impacted the arts. The trailer is available now, and the trio will post episodes from their six-part documentary over the coming weeks.
