Born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, Frank Zelko earned a doctorate in environmental history from the University of Kansas and has been at UVM since 2007. His research focuses on the history of environmental movements. He has published work on environmental activism in the US, Canada, Germany and Australia, and is the author of Make it a Green Peace: The Rise of Countercultural Environmentalism (Oxford University Press, 2013). In addition to his introductory course in global environmental history, Zelko also teaches classes on environmental activism and animals throughout history.
