Campus by University Heights

The courses offered toward the Critical Race and Ethnic Studies minor are taught from a multicultural perspective and devotes at least two-thirds of its content to the study of U.S. peoples of color.

 

Requirements for the minor

18 hours (6 courses) to include:

CRES 051, or an introduction course approved by the Director,  and fifteen hours to be chosen from the list of ALANA approved courses of which at least nine must be at the 100-level or above. Visit the official UVM Catalogue for more information including prerequisites.

Honors theses topics

Students eligible to write an honors thesis may do so in critical race and ethnic studies. Previous projects have included a focus on women in the Civil Rights movement as well as issues of race and health care. Email the program director Jinny Huh to discuss further.
