Natsumi Ueno Chaffee is a senior lecturer in the Japanese program. She received her Master's Degree in Linguistics specializing in Language Teaching from the University of Oregon. She has taught Elementary Japanese (JAPN001-002/1100-1200), Advanced Japanese (JAPN101-102/3100-3200), Kanji Is Key I (JAPN131/3150), Japanese for Communication (JAPN 221-222/4110-4210), and Japanese in Cultural Context (JAPN251-252) at UVM. She has taught Japanese as a second/foreign language both in the U.S. and Japan in a variety of levels and programs including teaching Intermediate and Advanced level courses at Princeton in Ishikawa Summer Program for ten years.
