For over 4 decades, aspiring horse people have honed their experience and skills working at this one-of-a-kind equine insitution.  

The Morgan Horse Farm has been supported by Apprentices since the early 1970s, and now proudly offers equine science internships through the University of Vermont. 

Well over 200 apprentices having completed the UVM Morgan Horse Farm apprenticeship program since its conception in the early 1970’s. Motivated participants utilize their experience to build a foundation for a career in the quine industry.

Apprentices can expect:
  • Approximate 45 hour work week with 2 days off
  • Paid hourly stipend
  • On-site housing, utilities included
  • Recommended year-long commitment

Inernships are offered in several formats, some eligible for credit through UVM, including a paid stipend and housing.

Applications for equine educational programs are accepted on a rolling basis. Interested individuals should reach out to the Equine and Academic Coordinator for more information.

The semester-long internship is credit-eligible through UVM. Candidates may apply to either a spring or fall semester.

UVM Morgan Horse Farm

There are several options for internships at the University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm. In addition to spring and fall semesters, interested individuals can also pursue a summer internship. Fulltime, semester long internships are paid a small stipend and students are able to live on farm.
