Masood Ali Khan

Masood is an urban & regional planner by training. He completed his BSc (Hons) in City and Regional Planning from University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, Pakistan and obtained an International Joint Masters in Urban and Regional Development Planning and Management from Technical University Dortmund, Germany, and Ardhi University, Tanzania as a DAAD scholar. He has attained a diversified experience with the public planning & infrastructure development institutions, civil society and private institutions such as the Federal Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad, Public Works Department Gilgit-Baltistan, the Aga Khan Development Network, UN-IFAD and MMP.

Masood worked with Aga Khan Planning & Building Services, Pakistan (aka: Aga khan Agency for Habitat, Pakistan) for four years in different community-driven projects located in Gilgit-Baltistan Chitral Region. These projects included low-cost energy-efficient and seismic-resistant buildings, resettlement planning for flood-affected communities, environmental management & sustainability projects, environmental studies (IEE, EIA & SEA), construction management, infrastructure design and disaster risk reduction.

Masood has also participated in multiple national and international training programs including Governance and Legislation course for Registered Town Planners from Planning Institute Australia (PIA) as well as Evidence-based development evaluation from Bonn University Germany.
