BOARD MEMBER

James is actively engaged with his team’s clients by providing a holistic approach to wealth management and family office services. He has more than twenty years of capital markets, portfolio management, investment, estate planning and risk management experience.

James joined Cerity Partners in November 2023 after over four years with First Western Trust in Jackson, WY as Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager.  He was instrumental in growing the Jackson investment management and wealth planning practice.

In 2005, James co-founded Thermopolis Partners, LLC, the General Partner for a long/short and long only fund, where he led the trading, equity analysis, idea generation, portfolio management and sales functions.

He began his career at Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin in New York City, as an investment banking analyst focused on debt restructuring, M&A and corporate valuations.

James earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Vermont, and currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the Grossman School of Business at UVM.
