2020 MACC ORIENTATION: Sunday August 30, 12pm – 6pm

Ifshin Hall, Keller Room

All new MAcc students are expected to attend the MAcc orientation. The orientation allows students to become better acquainted with their fellow students and meet some of the MAcc faculty. This year there is a heavy emphasis on preparing for the Accounting Career Fair on September 17 and the fall accounting firm recruiting season.

What happened at past orientations?

The 2018 MAcc Orientation included career building sessions (resume, cover letter and etiquette advise), and a Careers in Accounting Panel discussion in the new Ifshin Event Center. Keynote speaker Raymond Bromark, Board Member CA Technologies,  provided a thought provoking conversation on communication in accounting. Students also spent an afternoon volunteering at ReSource Vermont.

The 2016 MAcc Orientation included career building sessions (resume, cover letter and etiquette advise), and a Careers in Accounting Panel discussion. JMM Audit partner Randy Sargent from JMM & Associates provided a thought provoking conversation on not-for-profit accounting followed by a day at the Shelburne Museum where students learned about the fascinating work of museum curating. Students also spent an afternoon volunteering at Hope Lodge and ReSource Vermont.
