Pregnancy Accommodations and Support for Pregnant Students
UVM provides accommodations and support for students who are pregnant or who have pregnancy-related conditions, including childbirth, lactation, and termination of pregnancy, miscarriage, and recovery. Students are encouraged to contact Student Accessibility Services to consider what support measures they may be eligible for. Students are not required to have a disability to receive support measures for pregnancy or a pregnancy-related health condition.
Students can take medically necessary leaves without repercussions due to pregnancy-related conditions and experiences. Students who take may return to school without penalty and be reinstated to the status held before the leave occurred. Students are protected from discrimination on the basis of pregnancy, or any pregnancy-related condition.
