PHYS 301 – Mathematical Physics

Course Description: Introduction to basic mathematical methods of theoretical physics; vector and tensor analysis, partial differential equations, orthogonal functions, complex variables and variational techniques. Prerequisites: PHYS 211, PHYS 214. Alternate years.

Section Description: Physics 301 (Mathematical Physicsended for graduate students and senior undergraduate students of the physical science majors who have already studied the required courses of Physics majors and ready for the advanced tools of mathematics. Students majoring in Physics, Mathematics and Engineer are candidates for this course.
