BSAD 102 – Prof. Development Series II

Credits: 1.00

Course Description: Seminar series focusing on engagement, career preparedness and professional development. Prerequisites: BSAD 002; Business Adminstration major; minimum Sophomore standing.

Section Description: BSAD 102 is largely about you and your evolution as a job seeker. This course will combine experiential and classroom-based learning, including attending career fairs, participating in mock interviews, and completing career and interest inventories. You will also hear from current students about engagement opportunities both inside the Grossman School of Business and within the larger UVM community. Having a well-rounded collegiate experience contributes positively to building your personal brand, and this class will serve as another avenue to learn about opportunities to do so. Central to this class is the development of your resume and interviewing skills. You will have an opportunity to apply for a job, receive feedback on your cover letter and resume, and research employers in preparation for career fairs and mock interviews. We will also be discussing networking techniques, professional etiquette, and GSB tools to help you continue to develop your career.
