Course Description: Experiments in classical and modern physics. Prerequisites: PHYS 128; MATH 121; Junior standing.

Section Description: Note: Pre-requisites have recently changed to be PHYS152 or PHYS125 with no need for Junior standing. Experimental topics: Uncertianties and error bars Propagation of errors Statistical distributions (Binomial, Poisson) Geiger-Muller counter Radioactive sources Torsion balance Measurement of vertical displacement by cathetometer Data analysis with Python Laboratory Experiments: Poisson statistics Cavendish balance Kater pendulum Note: We will do all three of the experiments listed above.
