Course Description: Private instruction for music majors on an elective, non- required secondary instrument/voice. Subject to staff availability. Lab fee required. May be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: Music majors; successful completion of Level II Examination.

Section Description: Scott Dean teaches lessons for Conga and Latin Percussion. His lessons focus primarily on proper technique, understanding clave, and building a diverse repertoire of rhythms for use in bands, ensembles, group hand-drumming and folkloric settings. No matter what rhythm instrument you play, Djembe, Cajón, Drum Kit, or Bass, all musicians will benefit from these unique yet transferable skills and knowledge of material.
