Course Description: Exercises to increase self-awareness and heighten perceptions of human behavior. Basics of script analysis and development of vocal and physical skills through practice and performance.
Section Description: THE 010-B Acting I. The Introduction to Acting course provides students with the basic training and tools for acting on the stage. The course explores the use of body energy, breathing, diction, and personal experiences to support the acting process. Improvisational exercises, assigned monologues, and scene work will provide students an opportunity to learn about script analysis, dramatic conflict, character-driven objectives, and the importance of listening when acting.
