Course Description: See Schedule of Courses for specific titles.
Section Description: This course helps students develop individual styles as artistic speakers. We work together in a workshop oriented atmosphere to build on fundamentals of public speaking to create unique and engaging speaking abilities. Considerable amount of time is spent on improving skills in researching, organizing, crafting, and delivering speeches. Students learn to effectively deliver various types of speeches to various audiences. Students also spend time advocating for their ideas and responding to critics to not only develop speaking skills, but also critical thinking skills in front of an audience. Class will be largely devoted to listening to, critiquing, and discussing speeches.
