erin meharg - ''Alphabet Soup''

Genre(s): funky downtempo tr(h)ip hop & beats

The show is called "alphbet soup" because i thought it'd be fun to play songs from artists in alphabetical order, and go through the entire alphabet in one
show. It turns out that was not fun (for me). i play a lot of different music and don't like to tie myself to one genre. i like trip hop, beats, hip hop, funk, downtempo, sometimes indie, sometimes electronic... Listen, you'll like it! I live for phonecalls, ice coffee, and sometimes, i give out free cookies
just for tuning in. mmmmmmmmmmboy

L.J. Palardy - ''L.J.'s Dream''

I bought my first record in 1948, long before I could purchase a record player. I must have purchased 200 CDs before I could afford a CD player. Call me strange, but I am a member of the Edward "Duke" Ellington school of musical philosophy: "If it sounds good, it is good". Though my musical roots are Afro- American (ie. Jazz & Blues), I will play anything that sounds good.

Nate B - "The Sure Shot"

SubMD: Beatz/ Funk / IDM
Bio written by Captain Funkaho:

Wisconsin Chedder, Budweiser and NWA are some very obvious influences that one will hear/see during this asshole's show . One day back in 1996, while in a drunken, dairy induced haze he heard the green mountains calling his name, and the rest as they say is history. The Sure Shot finds its roots in the boom-bip percussion pattern of old school jazz drummers. You will hear every genre that utilizes this beat, including but not limited to; jazz, old school funk, hip-hop, and experimental/ downtempo electronic music. The newest and freshest of each of these various types of music will be represented with an iron fist. File this show under the head-nodding backpack section of your radio dial. . DON'T SLEEP! McSchizzo el nizzo fo'schizo.

Pink Sol - "The Breakz"

It is blessed to have an open-minded music policy such as WRUV's in the midst of the modern world's brash commercialism which stagnates creativity, instead of focusing on the voices and artistry of underground music scenes. That said, over the last year at 90.1, I have been mixing up the late night airwaves with a steady stream of Drum and Bass, Broken Beat, UK Garage-2-Step, House and Classics as DJ Pink Sol. The show is entitled "The Breakz" and focuses on the many different rhythms of the dance, electronic, jazz and experimental soul undergrounds. I keep it true to the depth of humanity and funk of life. Check da vibes and increase peace with your head to the sky.

Tay - "Electric Pop Rocks"

Genre(s): Pop, Rock, Electronica in the realm of the Kitsch

Thanks for your interest in DJ Tay. Not much to say. Note how my name rhymes with a lot. Generally I play music that is poppy and/or fun, though occasionally you will hear some full on rock or sad sweeping melodies that border on adult contemporary.....eeek. I play what I like, and I hope that you like what you hear. I'm thankful that we have WRUV to allow me - and you - to continually explore the vast world of sounds that people make.

T-Licious - Tasty Tunes

Genre(s): Assorted Urban

When I began DJing, my main interest in music was hip-hop, this still holds true in that I want to expose the Burlington area to a diverse, progressive, and conscious selection of beatz and lyricists. I also will be incorporating more drum'n'bass and downtempo into my show this semester, so TUNE IN & ENJOY!!

Vince - Driving Music

Genre(s): Loud Rock

I have always respected bands. Loud, live music always gave me the "willies" and made me want to play the drums. I still get real stoked on energetic, live, honest music. I have had a bunch of radio shows over time, many at local college stations.
But WRUV is the holy grail of college radio. Freedom to rock, all kinds of music, and all kinds of people. I am honored to be able to take part. The "Driving Music" show is about bands that play loud rock with instruments. The kind of music that makes you play the air drums in your car, that gets you going. New stuff, old stuff, but not too old. In a rock world that still allows for Bon Jovi and Aerosmith to continue to play at venues like the Super Bowl, College radio and new rock are the only elements keeping the dream alive. Mainstream culture will not drive rock and roll. So we have to. In support of local, independent, loud rock, I will do my part to play it for you, and me.
