If you would like to become one of the many proud and professional
DJs at WRUV, take time to review some of the requirements. Also,
check out the station faq for answers to many questions regarding
WRUV.

Familiarity with radio broadcasting is not necessary. In fact, one of
the main goals here at WRUV is to provide University of Vermont
students and community members with the chance to immerse
themselves in the field of communications.

Requirements

When you sign up to become a WRUV DJ, the staff will provide training
regarding station rules and FCC etiquette. After this training, you will
produce a demo tape of a typical show that you hope to broadcast.

Next, you are required to complete a quiz regarding the training you
have received. If the staff approves, they will grant you a broadcast
time during the "Graveyard Shift". These time slots are typically from
2 A.M. to 6 A.M.

After completing a semester of "Graveyard" broadcasting, you become
a regular member of the WRUV staff.

Each broadcast semester (Spring, Fall, Summer), you will fill out a
show request form. You must answer why you believe you deserve
a show for the particular semester. In addition, you must explain
what type of programming your show will offer.

WRUV thrives on the depth of musical types it provides. The show
request form is one way that WRUV maintains this musical variety.

Again, you need not be a University of Vermont student to join WRUV.
