Welcome to the Dostmann Laboratory

The cGMP-dependent protein kinase (PKG) is an essential regulator of cellular function in blood vessels throughout the body. My laboratory seeks to discern the molecular mechanisms of vascular control involving PKG and its signaling partners. Understanding how blood vessels constrict and dilate is critical for the strategic development of new therapeutic agents aimed at the prevention and treatment of vascular disorders. To achieve these goals my laboratory is currently engaged in three main research areas:
cGMP-Biosensors, Modulators of PKG activity and Structure/Function of PKG
