*UNH-EcoQuest New Zealand Study Abroad Program*
On Tuesday,* January 27*, from* 6:30pm -8:00pm*, in the* Aiken Center
Student Lounge*, Dr. Kim Babbitt and UNH-EcoQuest alumni and staff will
hold an* information session*.
Are you interested in applied field studies in ecology, resource
management, and environmental policy? Does hands-on field work in a
variety of environments from estuaries, to forests, to alpine terrain,
to off-shore islands spark your interest? Does the opportunity to
contribute to existing research and local conservation initiatives in a
country that has a history of innovative approaches to resource
management motivate you? Are you interested in joining a small team of
motivated people willing to study the challenges of sustainability? If
so, please join us!
In partnership with the UNH Department of Natural Resources and the
Environment, the EcoQuest Education offers an intensive program of
applied field studies in ecology, resource management, and environmental
policy. EcoQuest students engage, hands-on, in New Zealand’s restoration
ecology and sustainable resources management initiatives. Semester
participants have the opportunity to carry out directed research
projects while working closely with a faculty mentor and in association
with New Zealand research partners.
Program participants from colleges and universities across the country
have joined us “down under” for an unforgettable journey through
interdisciplinary and experiential learning from the “mountains to the
sea”. Students may choose from a four-course, 15-week fall or spring
term for 16 credit hours, or from a two- course, five-week summer
session for 8 credit hours.
Pizza will be available!
