Deb O’Rourke joined the faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Vermont in 1987, and has been a VT-ILEHP faculty member since 1995. Deb received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Clinical Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Psychology from the University of Vermont. She has more than twenty-five years of clinical experience as a pediatric physical therapist working with children with disabilities and their families. Her teaching, clinical work, and research focuses on chronic illness and disability in children. Her specific research interests include pain in children and individuals with disabilities, and children’s perceptions of illness and disability.
