The purpose of the open source forum is to share knowledge and resources in
support of open source solutions for education. Topics include, but are not limited to open source software in support of administrative functions (such as Student Information Systems, etc.) and used to integrate technology in the delivery of classroom instruction and professional development, (such as OpenOffice, Google Apps, etc.) and in support of the IT infrastructure.

This forum is devoted to discussion about revising the current information technology grade expectations (GEs) to reflect better the NETS-S 2007 standards and the standards set forth by the 21st Century Skills Partnership. This discussion originated in a VITA-NW regional meeting but is now being discussed statewide. All are invited to contribute.

VITA-Learn is a statewide, professional development organization dedicated to the integration of technology in Vermont K-12 schools. It is an ISTE affiliate and serves to create a human network of educational technologists, teachers, administrators, parents, and others interested in improving schools and learning.
Five regional groups are supported within VITA-Learn.
