Clinical Evaluation Service

The Clinical Evaluation Service (CES) specializes in the assessment of children, adolescents, and adults experiencing psychological difficulties. Evaluations are requested for symptoms related to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other stress-related disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and other anxiety disorders, Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and other mood disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) and other behavior-regulation disorders, learning challenges, behavioral problems, and personality disorders.

Depending on the individual’s needs, evaluations may include cognitive, memory, academic, behavioral, and/or social/emotional assessment. As part of all of our evaluations, comprehensive written reports with specific recommendations are completed and subsequently reviewed with each client. In addition to serving several populations and providing various types of assessments, it should be noted that the CES is one of the only evaluation clinics in the state of Vermont to accept insurance for the assessment of children, adolescents and adults. Thus, we are able to provide services that promote efficient and effective care to underserved populations. Indeed, CES regularly receives referrals from primary care physicians, psychologists, hospitals, and schools across the state of Vermont. Kathleen Kennedy, Ph.D. leads this specialty service.

Specific evaluation services provided by the CES include:

  • Comprehensive Psychological Evaluation
  • Cognitive/Intelligence Testing
  • School Psychological Evaluations
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Evaluations
  • Psychological evaluations for asylum seekers
  • Forensic Evaluations
  • Psychosexual Evaluation
