Adaptive Sports

This year, UVM Adaptive Sports volunteers will be working with Special Olympics and Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. UVM Adaptive Sports was created here at the University of Vermont to establish a volunteer base for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports (VASS) located on Mt. Ellen at Sugarbush Mountain and now at Bolton Valley Resort. Individuals hoping to volunteer in other ways with Special Olympics are encouraged to visit vtso.org for more information. Every Saturday and Sunday starting the first week in December, UVM Adaptive Sports will be volunteering with Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports down in assisting and teaching individuals with disabilities how to ski and/or snowboard. Volunteers are provided a 50% off meal pass as well as free transportation to and from the mountains. Please keep in mind that for every day volunteered = a free full-day ski pass for you the volunteers!

The UVM Adaptive Sports program is designed to incorporate the UVM community in fun athletic activities to support the mentally and physically challenged members of the state of Vermont. Our goal is to facilitate companionship and understanding between UVM students and people with mental and physical disabilities.
