UVM Men's Club Volleyball Team
Playing for the UVM Men's Club Volleyball is a fun and exciting experience. Each year new members add great energy to our team and a renewed commitment to the sport. Our members have a wide range of skill and ability which creates a stimulating learning environment on the court. Below is more information on becoming a member. Also, we would like you to fill out this (Interested Member Form) so we can learn more about you. Please return electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Some Things to Consider...
The club team practices regularly, often 4 - 5 times a week for two hours during the evenings and weekends in Patrick Gym. It is expected that all members attend practice consistently.
We focus on skill development and competitive play. Because there are a variety of skill levels on our team, we must work hard at becoming a better team. New members should expect a structured environment where they not only play volleyball as a game, but also hone specific volleyball skills.
The team also travels. During the spring semester our tournaments take us all over the Northeast. Typically we leave on Friday or Saturday afternoons and return the following evening. Fall semester requires less travel.
The club is run by its members. Operating a collegiate sport club takes a lot of energy, and our members work hard to keep the club going. New members can expect to have some type of responsibility in the club. Maybe you will be our new Club President, or maybe you will be responsible for our equipment, but regardless you can expect to help out. More information on club member expectations can be found (here).
Try-outs for the club occur during the start of fall semester. Try-outs are a time for the club to assess your skill level and get to know you as a player. Before try-outs are scheduled, open gym sessions are held to help all players get back into the swing of things.
