Womyn of Color is an organization of students who will address the needs and experiences relating to issues that affect women of color who are members of the campus community. We will also create a bridge between the Women of Color Alliance, a non-profit organization in Burlington, Vermont. We will serve as mentors for young women of color in elementary, middle, and high school.

Our purpose is to provide support academically, socially, and culturally. Womyn of Color will meet these needs through a monthly newsletter, occasional support meetings, conferences, and socials.

Womyn of Color will plan to go on a retreat once a year in which we hope to obtain new unity and power. We will also provide our support by bringing up women of color whose careers are not simply going to colleges and speaking. We hope to bring women to speak who are everyday survivors; survivors of racism, sexism, rape, homophobia, women abuse, etc.

Womyn of Color has decided to work together as one, making decisions equally and as a collective, there will be no hierarchy involved.
