Mission Statement:
The mission of UVMtv is to serve as a means of
communication to promote, disperse, and expand knowledge,
culture and community within the University of Vermont.
Philosophy:
UVMtv is a closed circuit cable television station run by
students for the students. The principles behind this station are
to serve as a student forum to encourage and express opinions and
ideas, to inform and educate, to set a new standard for freedom of
expression and thought. The purpose of UVMtv is to promote
cultural and community development throughout the university by
establishing a common communication link between the students,
administration, faculty, staff, and the city of Burlington.
Goals of UVMtv Are:
- To have a ridiculous amount of fun;

To operate as a non-profit student organization dedicated to the
principles set forth in this document. UVMtv will create
a forum for free thought and expression and will serve as an
alternative to profit-driven commercial television and will not
be influenced by outside organizations;

To operate in a professional manner and to adhere to a standard of
excellence as representative of the University of Vermont, the
student body, and the persons involved;

To promote original and creative programming and entertainment;

To support and promote the Student Government Association and
student clubs, varsity sports, university departments and
services, and university sanctioned and community events; and

To serve as an inspiration and educational environment for the
students who wish to pursue experience and knowledge in the
fields of television, marketing, advertising, and communication.
UVMtv gives students a chance to pursue interests in the
fields of television, marketing, advertising, multimedia,
graphic design, web design, Internet, business, and music, that
are inherently interactive and experimental, giving those
involved invaluable experience. UVMtv understands the
importance of communication and technology and will give
students the opportunity to explore its infinite possibilities
while a student at UVM.
