Current Research in SPS

As part of the UVM Physics Department family, members of SPS have a wide arrange of research opportunities. Our faculty has taken in countless students over the years, and the department contains numerous research facilities and labs for budding physicists. Many of our researchers have gone on to present their work at conferences and talks, and many more have used their work to write an Undergraduate Honors Thesis in the physical sciences.

Undergraduate research in our department can be split into four main fields:

  • Computational Physics
  • Experimental Physics
  • Theoretical Physics
  • Astronomy.

Click the links above to discover research that SPS members have engaged in, or go to the Physics Journal Club homepage to find out how to get involved in the current research culture.
