What all students need to know before moving off-campus. All attendees receive a UVM Preferred Renters Card and a packet of essential rental resources!

Staff Council Holiday Bazaar and Food Drive - Thursday, December 3rd
UVM's Staff Council invites students to showcase and sell their own handmade crafts, products, and artwork at the upcoming Holiday Bazaar scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2009 from 9am-3pm in the Grand Maple Ballroom of the Davis Center.
This year, the Staff Council will also hold a Food Drive at the event to benefit the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf. One Free Ticket to the Raffle held at the Holiday Bazaar will be given for each donation of a Non-Perishable Food Item.

Mortar Board Bake Sale - Monday, December 7th
Davis Center Atrium. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The proceeds from this bake sale will help the Mortar Board Senior Honor Society fund its community service activities, including cooking a three-course meal for the Ronald McDonald House each Sunday, helping the Chittenden County Food Shelf distribute healthy and hearty meals to families in need, and trash pickups in the Burlington area.

Salsa and Swing Society 2nd Annual Holiday Ball - Fricay, December 11th

6:00-6:30 p.m. Swing Lesson
6:30-7:30 p.m. Waltz Lesson
7:30-10:00 p.m. Social Ballroom Dancing
Tickets are $6 for students and senior citizens, $8 USA Dance members, $10 public.

UVM Hillel Holiday Toy Drive
Please join UVM Hillel in its Holiday Toy Drive - all donations will go to the children of the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program.
Please bring all donations to a UVM Hillel sponsored event or to the Third Floor of the Allen House (at the corner of Main Street and South Prospect). There will also be a box at the Hillel desk in the SGA office on the Third Floor of the Davis Center.
We will be accepting donations until the end of the Chanukah Party on December 12th.

UVM Hillel Community Service Opportunity - Tuesdays
EVERY TUESDAY from 3:30 - 5:00 pm!
Come to Burlington Children Space in the Old North End to mentor young children, play music with them, or help by creating something for the children to use such as sewing bean bags.
Any help is appreciated, or even if you just want to interact with an age group whose joy brings happiness to all around them.

Vermont Research Awards
The Center for Research on Vermont announces two undergraduate awards for research projects on Vermont topics:
The George B. Bryan Award
For excellence in a project on a Vermont topic completed for a one-semester course. Recommended length: 15-25 pages; offered annually in memory of UVM Professor of Theatre and former Center Director George B. Bryan (1939-1996).
The Andrew E. Nuquist Award
For outstanding research on a Vermont topic, usually awarded to a culminating study.
Recommended length: No limit; offered annually since 1982 in memory of UVM Political Science Professor Andrew E. Nuquist (1905-1975).
The deadline for submission of projects is March 1, 2010. For more information, please visit the Center's Web site at www.uvm.edu/~crvt.
