WORK-STUDY INFORMATION

Workstudy is a part of your financial aid package. The Office of Financial Aid will notify you if you are eligible. If you have questions about this, please call 656-3156.
If you are eligible, you will receive a packet of workstudy information in the mail during the first week of August. This packet will contain instructions on finding a job and your Work Study Authorization Form.
Locate available job openings by viewing the America Reads & Counts area of the UVM workstudy website at: http://www.uvm.edu/~career/students/work_study/ws_front.html#amr
For help finding a placement, make an appointment with Susan or Jane.

  1. Select the position and location that interests you.
  2. Contact the appropriate school or agency and arrange for an interview.
  3. Once hired, you and your supervisor will complete the Work-Study Authorization Form. First-time workstudy students must also complete an I-9 and W-4 form.
  4. Return the completed paperwork to Career Services for processing.
  5. Once that information is electronically transferred to the Payroll Office, you can access the online timesheet system at http://timesheet.uvm.edu.
  6. Hours need to be reported weekly.
  7. Student employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis by check or direct deposit.
  8. Deadline for finding a fall position is October 15th. There is no deadline for the Spring semester.
