In 1998, Greene co-founded VMware, a Silicon Valley software company that expanded the already vast frontier of computer technology and introduced a new concept into the mainstream of information technology, virtualization, which today is recognized as a cornerstone of cloud computing.

Greene spoke to the University of Vermont's magazine, Vermont Quarterly, in 2008, after being named by the Wall Street Journal as one of “50 Women to Watch” in the world of business. Read the VQ story.
