The University of Vermont will hold its 22nd annual Hispanic Forum Oct. 8 and 9. The focus of this year’s forum is protest music and, more broadly, music and social activism in Latin America and the Caribbean. It will feature speakers and performers traveling to the university from as far away as California and Chile.

For the first time, the forum is also collaborating with the Lane Series, incorporating a performance on Thursday evening by Nano Stern, the Chilean singer/songwriter.

Follow this link for a complete schedule of events.

The forum is a direct outgrowth of a multi-disciplinary course last year by professors Alexander Stewart, Music, Caroline Beer, Political Science,  and John Waldron, Romance Languages and Linguistics. Stewart is directing this year’s forum.
