Nearly 90 attendees gathered in the University of Vermont College of Medicine's Carpenter Auditorium on September 1 to hear the first lecture of the Fall 2015 Community Medical School series, which focused on new experimental data-driven programs to assist with personal health decisions, and was presented by UVM Assistant Professor of Surgery Christopher Jones, Ph.D.

The free public lecture series, which features the academic medical center's top faculty experts discussing the science behind important health issues, is offered jointly by the UVM College of Medicine and UVM Medical Center. Presentations take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m., including a Q&A session, in Carpenter Auditorium in the Given Building on the first Tuesday of each month through December 1, 2015.

Evan Eyler, M.D., M.P.H., Associate Professor of Psychiatry; Pamela Gibson, M.D., Associate Professor of Pathology; Michael Upton, M.D., Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry; and Leah Cipri, medical student, University of Vermont College of Medicine Class of 2017
