Rather than clocks or statues or other monuments to remember them by, the Class of 2015 has decided its gift to the university should impact five worthy campus causes: UVM Rescue, the Women's Center, the Office of Sustainability, the Cancer Center and Volunteers in Action.

On April 11, the Student Alumni Association organized a Catamount Color Run to help fundraise for these groups, which were selected via student survey in the fall. The event, the first of its kind at UVM, was as much about festivities as it was about fitness.

Nearly 300 students turned out to run the 1.5 mile a race, a course that wound from Redstone to Athletic Campus and back, with volunteers dusting the runners with colored powder -- green and gold, of course -- along the way.

Though the race is over, fundraising continues. Donations can still be made to any of the organizations via the form on the UVM Foundation’s website.
