Award-winning producer and UVM alumnus Jon Kilik will visit campus Tuesday, Dec. 2 to offer a special screening -- the Vermont premiere -- of his latest film, Foxcatcher, a critically acclaimed true-crime drama starring Channing Tatum, Mark Ruffalo and Steve Carell.

The screening, free for UVM students, will take place at 101 Fleming Museum at 6 p.m. A Q&A with the producer will follow. Update: a second screening will take place at 8:45, also followed by a Q&A.

Kilik, who graduated from UVM in 1978 and returns frequently to host screenings, credits visits from filmmakers to his classes for sparking an interest in the profession. "If I could be that to one student, that's a big deal to me," he says. He'll spend the day visiting classes and speaking with students in the Film and Television Studies program before the evening event.

Among Kilik’s credits are Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Dead Man Walking, Babel and Biutiful. He most recently returned to UVM to hold a benefit screening of his 2012 film The Hunger Games. Kilik has produced each of the Hunger Games movies, including Mockingjay -- Part 1, in theaters now.
