University of Vermont College of Medicine students and Fletcher Allen Health Care residents heard a talk by Christina Nelson, M.D., M.P.H., medical officer at the Division of Vector-Borne Diseases of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Fort Collins, Colo., on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the Sullivan Classroom in the Medical Education Center.

A medical epidemiologist who is board-certified in both pediatrics and preventive medicine/public health, Nelson discussed the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of Lyme disease, as well as introduced a new CDC program for medical students, graduate students and residents called LymeCorps at her talk, which was titled “Tick Tock, Tick Talk: Time to Talk about Lyme Disease.”
