The Vermont Cancer Center (VCC) welcomed Kate Webster on September 15 as the new Administrative Director, reporting to VCC co-directors Gary Stein, Ph.D., and Claire Verschraegen, M.D.

Webster joins the VCC from the Massey Cancer Center at the Virginia Commonwealth University, where she was senior research administrator responsible for the programmatic and financial administration of the National Cancer Institute’s P30 Center Grant, as well as management of Cancer Center intramural funding mechanisms, reporting, pre-and post-award grant administration for extramural funding. She was also involved in strategic planning and support for development activity, program development, community events and overall strategic direction for leadership at the Massey Cancer Center.

A native Vermonter, Webster is excited to return to her home state as an instrumental member of the VCC team, working with Stein and Verschraegen to build resources and support for basic, translational and clinical cancer research at the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care.
