UVM Panhellenic Council, a cooperative association comprising all sororities on campus belonging to the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), is one of 21 campuses receiving the College Panhellenic Achievement Award this year. The University of Vermont is one of 32 universities to receive a prestigious recognition from NPC.

The purpose of College Panhellenics is to develop and maintain sorority life and interfraternity relations at a high level of accomplishment.

The NPC has recognized student-managed College Panhellenics with awards of excellence and achievement for more than 50 years. With organizations located at more than 600 U.S. and Canadian colleges and universities, only the top scoring groups are recognized with this honor for either excellence or achievement. This is the second year in a row UVM has been recognized.

The 21 Achievement Award recipients meet five or six out of the seven areas of criteria, including recruitment; panhellenic structure; communication with NPC area advisor; judicial procedures; panhellenic programming; academics; and panhellenic community impact and relations.

“Our high-performing College Panhellenics are an integral component of the entire fraternity and sorority community across the globe,” said Julie Johnson, Panhellenics Committee chairman for NPC. “It is an honor to work alongside these bright women who represent what it means to be a thriving sorority woman in today’s world.”
