On Wednesday morning, Leslie Black Sullivan ’77, joined UVM Foundation staff members at ceremonies marking the opening bell at the NASDAQ in New York City. Sullivan, wife of UVM President Tom Sullivan, was invited to the stock exchange by Jordan Saxe ’02, NASDAQ’s Managing Director of the Americas and a featured speaker at UVM’s School of Business Administration commencement in 2013. Wednesday’s opening bell was rung by executives from MassChallenge, a Boston firm that supports entrepreneurs and start-up companies.

Scott Bailey ’09 of MassChallenge joined company founder John Hawthorne for the 9:30 a.m. bell at the NASDAQ stock market at its Times Square headquarters. Bailey, a 2014 recipient of the UVM Alumni Association’s outstanding young alumni award, also helps to lead the UVM Alumni Association Entrepreneurs Group in Boston.
