Awards and Honors

Joshua Bongard, associate professor of computer science in the College of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, has received a four-year $250,000 INSPIRE Award from the National Science Foundation to extend his work on robotics and evolution. He’ll be collaborating with scientists at Vassar College to explore gene duplication, differentiation and "evolvability" in both digital and actual robots. Learn more.
