The Vermont Cancer Center at the University of Vermont and Fletcher Allen Health Care hosted a J. Walter Juckett Distinguished Lecture Series presentation on “Clinical Implications of Cancer Stem Cells” by Max Wicha, M.D., director of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, on Friday, June 7, 2013 in Carpenter Auditorium in the Given Medical Building.

Wicha is Distinguished Professor of Oncology and the founding director of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center. The driving force for the cancer stem cell field, he has played an instrumental role in the identification and characterization of cancer stem cells and has made highly acclaimed contributions to understanding the fundamental regulatory and clinical relevance of breast cancer stem cells.
