Boston Globe Reports on University’s Bottled Water Ban

In a frontpage story in The Boston Globe (also reported by NPR and Fast Company), the paper cites UVM’s trailblazing campus-wide ban on bottled water sales as the first waste-reducing policy of its kind at a public university. UVM installed a network of refill stations for reusable bottles, and, though giving up some revenue on commercial drink contracts, Richard Cate, vice president of finance and administration, makes clear it’s a worthy tradeoff, calling UVM “an environmentally conscious and proactive university.” Read the story...
