The Vermont Catamounts erased a 9.5-point deficit to Dartmouth after day one of the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) Championship, hosted by Bates College, with wins in the women's 10K freestyle and men's and women's slalom events to take home the EISA title for the third straight year and 33rd time overall. Vermont finished the weekend with 939.5 points, while Dartmouth finished second with 908.5 points and New Hampshire was third with 690.0 points.
Up next for the Catamounts is the NCAA Championships. UVM is the defending national champion and will be gunning for a repeat title at Middlebury College, March 6-9. The Panthers will host the NCAAs at Middlebury Snow Bowl and Rikert Touring Center.
Vermont won last year's NCAA title with a record-breaking 832 points. The last time UVM won back-to-back NCAA championships was 1989 and 1990.
