The Painted Word Poetry Series, which highlights established and emerging poets, hosts Marie Elizabeth Mali, Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at the Fleming Museum.

Mali, who practiced traditional Chinese medicine before earning her master's in fine arts from Sarah Lawrence College, is author of the book of poetry Steady, My Gaze. She is co-editor with Annie Finch of Villanelles, an anthology of the best of the villanelle, a nineteen-line poetic form introduced to the English language in the early 19th century.

Presented by the Fleming Museum, the series is curated by Major Jackson, Richard Dennis Green & Gold Professor in UVM's Department of English. See the upcoming schedule on the Fleming's website.
