Kristen Renn, professor of higher, adult and lifelong education at Michigan State University, will speak on "Activism and Identity: New Challenges and Opportunities for Campus and Community," Monday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. in Memorial Lounge, Waterman Building.

The talk, free and open to the public, is part of the Burack President's Distinguished Lecture Series.

Renn's research and teaching focus on issues of identity in higher education, including studies of mixed race identities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students; and leaders of identity-based student organizations. She is currently conducting an international study of women’s higher education, funded by the Spencer Foundation, which has brought her to 15 women’s colleges and universities in 11 countries.
