The critical link between discovery science and new medical treatments and cures is the focus of a “Viewpoint” piece featured in the December 2012 issue of the Association of American Medical College’s AAMC Reporter. The article is co-authored by Richard Galbraith, M.D., Ph.D., University of Vermont professor of medicine and director of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and Judith Bond, Ph.D., president of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB), the nation’s largest coalition of biomedical researchers, representing 26 scientific societies and over 100,000 researchers from around the world.
